that sounds about like mine but mine reaches 70. But i also have a really cramped case.

after you warned me about X1600 over heating i just leave my case open now

i clean the dust off once a week but heat decrease dramatically

whatever temps you feel comfortable with. I cant really see a differnce when i overclock, maybe like 4fps difference. but if it goes higher than 75C then I would back down your overclock some. It will be okay at 65-70 but when it gets into 80 and higher i would back it down a little.

TYhe most your card will reach is maybe 60C with a pretty large oc. it all depends on your airflow. I spent a couple of hours making ducts for my cpu, gpu,and the back of it. My ambient case temp is like 29 down from about 40 and the gpu temp under load decreased from 65-70 to 50-66. If youhave a couple of hours i would try to make some ducs where the fans suck in cold air from out of the case, them go for it, it works awesomely. I had to drill some holes but the improvement was massive. It is okay for you to drill some holes if needed but ALWAYS clean out the shavings with a vacuum and magnet just to be safe.

BUT it also depends on how much room you have left in your case for the cardboard and stuff.

This is what i did but the cpu duct goes over the fan and its as wide as the heatsink.
The Vga duct is basically the same but with 2 60mm fans.

Around 60C idle is normal. Under stress, temperature can reach 80C which is normal. If you start getting freezes with repeating sounds or artifacts then you need to reset your card's clock.

^ yes thats more than ok, if its an old card thats not really designed for high temperatures then you might be a littler warey but if its a fairly recent card then your fine had an old 9600xt that would be about those temperatures overclocked, did a 100mhz overclock to 600mhz still ran stable for a while until the fan malfunctioned and the temperature shot up to around 100 degrees i immediately unclocked it though.

i sometimes hit 100, but never more. I heard the solder doesn't melt till 110 celcius though??

i have an OC'ed 9550 256Mb.. i would tell u the temps.. but i dont know them..it doesnt have a sensor.. so i cant.. lol.. but ur temps r fine, they sounds quite low. And to the guy thats got the card running to 100.. get some better cooling.. or.. just get some cooling.. is ur fan running? do u have a fan? or that card wont last..
