get windows xp pro x64 i run it and i beats the pants off my xp home. And get Western didigtl HD they run amaizingly well!

bleh... there isn't nearly enough support for xp64 for me to suggest that, with the lack of both drivers and programs running in 64bit that give a significant boost in performance. Just save your money and use Xp home.

As for playing the game on high, I would think that the 6800gt should be able to do it, just at lower resolutions. I would definitely suggest getting another gig of memory and seeing if that helps.

OK.. for all high you will need 1.5-2gig of RAM, a nice video card, the 6800GT i dont think will get everything on high.. but it will get most there. Your CPU is ok, although for all on high, on the lower side.

I would suggest... (minimum for high)

Athlon 3200+ (yours will be ok)
2GB RAM
7600GS
