Better warranties from ATi, heh I think not. Check out Evga's warranty there bud.

Not to mention a 7900gt is $100 cheaper than a 1900XT and will still play any game on all high.

If you want something that is future proof u will wait a bit until the new video cards are released that support HDCP. Most of you might not even know what that is but its Microsofts way of saying when Vista comes out to get the full benefit u are going to need to purchase a new monitor/gpu. If u think your gpu currently supports HDCP it probably does, only thing is, your board does not support it. I recently bought a 7900gtx 512 but lucky for me it was bad and was crashing my computer so i sent it back and got a refund. Gonna wait until nvidia releases its new line along with AMD's new AM2 platform and new cpus that support ddr2 800. With that said...just wait until June because your wasting your money, and if you dont feel like spending all that cash on the new hardware then at least all the stuff that is out now will be cheaper.

As for all this 7800/7900 ********...that's them dreaming of what they could have
6800GS from eVGA is a bargain period. If you're willing to spend the money for something more that's fine...but for high quality in BF2 WITH OTHER GOOD PARTS, 6800GS does the job for me...

Has the OP even posted a price range yet?

For under $200, I'd go with the 7600gt. For $300, I think the 7900gt would be the best choice. For the very high end ($450+), a 1900xt would probably be the best choice.

get anything that works OK and cheap (7600GT,X1800GTO,6800GT...)

then get a better one when Vista + DX10 brings new trends in hardware

i saw a halflife3 ss and the words labelled to it is "power of DX 10"
from the gamespot interviews, it seems DX10 will not be backward compatible inorder to let microsoft make their "big leap" in technology

Hey virus, didnt you post about the 9800 just a couple days ago?

First of all when you posted this you should have mentioned what slot you graphics card is going into. Price/performance is and an issue between slots (agp's are usually more expensive for same model PCIx) and some cards are only available in PCIex format.

Anyways if your replacing your 9800, (which should perform decent engouh to provide good visual quality, and game performance in my opnion). But if you have to go with a high settings, definetly get a change. This also must mean you have an agp slot no such thing as 9800 pcix.

Ok as for reccomendations, i am an ATI guy so i would reccomend somewhere around a X800 pro, to an X850XT, these should be able to provide high setting and good performance, at a decent price for an agp card The X1600 pro is around $150 and worth considering as well, although i personally don't know much about it.

Since you already own an Ati i reccomend staying with it for familiarity with their Catalyst software, unless you have an issue that made you want to change then i agree with the 6800GT or ultra series being good at quality and price.

I also agree with the above post, stating that spending alot on a card right now may not be the best idea with dx 10 coming out soon, as you will not want to spend buku $ on a card that may not turn out to be DX10 compatable as no cards are compatable right now, although some may prove to be.

I would have to recommend the 7600GT as its great value and can overclock like a 7800. It'll run at all medium on even a sub standard rig, and if you overclock it and have over a gig of ram, it should get you almost or all high at 1280 x 1024

I got all high on 1024x768 w/ 2gigs RAM with a 7600 GT. I haven't tried 1280x1024 yet
