dual channel has got nothing to do with the ram defaulting itself to run at 333MHZ.

Have u checked iun the BIOS of the memory timings, try forcing the memory to run in 400MHZ.

Or just try running 2x 512 stick

I am too lazy and it is way too early in the morning for me to be looking at manuals, but if you check your manual there is probably a reference to this.

Your celeron D runs @ a 533mhz FSB and i think thats why your ram is running at DDR333, typically 800FSB chips run DDR400.

If you go into your bios you can probably manually set DDR400 speeds (assumings there isnt a limitation of DDR333 w/ 4 sticks)

          Go read the manual

            Re: dual channel

ON many Mobos running 4 double sided memory chips ( chips on both sides of the stick, most RAM made this way, cheaper ) will slow down to 333 because of power consumtion, to stay at 400 with 4 sticks you have to run single sided chips (chips on ONLY one side, more $$$$).

Have you checked the timings on the ram, they may default to a faster timing. Or loosen the timings to hit the 400mhz mark.

if you had an AMD system that would be normal, but its intel and I believe intel doesnt drop to 333 like amd does in dual channel with 4 sticks. thats odd.
