How to improve 3dmark06 scores?

How can I improve my 3dmark06 scores? My computer got an 1872 overall score. However, I know my pc is capable of more. I am running a 3.0 pentium d 830 dual core, nvidia 6800, and 1.024 g of ram. Any help would be much appreciated.

latest nvidia driver 84.21, latest sound drivers, tweak windows http://www.tweakxp.com/, use litle to no exra apps/programs in the background so ur memory is free.

Doa spyware, adware/virus scan., defrag ur harddrive

I know that there are some unused processes running in the background, but I'm not sure which ones are needed and which ones are not.

I put a blue light in my comp and i got a 1000 point increase.
