    2x 7600 or 1x 7900?

Friend is building himself a new gaming system...everything else is good on his shopping list. Though he dosnt know what is better, a single 7900gt or a dual 7600s?

He is only going to be using a 19in LCD...i told him a single 7900gt

Faster than the 7800GTX and cheaper to boot. He should go with the 7900GT or the X1800XT.

I told him nvidia because im an nvidia, but he swings both ways lol

Told him to get that and put the silencer, because he likes how mine looks and likes how quiet it is. He comes over just to stare at my 7800 lol

Honestly i dont see why people modify their video card's cooling. Usually breaks the warrenty and hurts resell value. As soon as people know a card has been messed with/overclocked it loses value on the secondary market.

If your friend wants quiet get the 7900GT, but the X1800XT would actually be faster and has nicer IQ.

Get the 7900gt. the one from evga has a lifetime warranty (unlike ati's 1 year), you can modify the heatsink and still keep your warranty. Plus it's really fast.

1 single 7800GTX gets me 100 fps almost all the time i switched from twin 6800 GTs.
2 x 7600 = more power supply requirments = more heat and you need a great monitor to boot!

stay 7800GTX like i have with 2 gigs of ram
                Im happy as hell

Soon there will be PCIe Havok/Nvidia Physics cards.
Save the other PCIe slot for that!!

first off. 7900gt, it performs basically...better. and with that you can save up and get a SECOND 7900gt in the future.
though this article is very interesting...
