I have been playin well then after i download EF the game is freezing a little bit.

what do you mean freezing? like the game freezes, or do you mean like stuttering/lag?

With 1.5Gig, stuttering should only occurred in the beginning of a new map, or you wondering off to a different part of map.

stuttering can be from a number of things...could just be your hard drive seeking and causing a stutter, ur processor might not be that grand and struggling to keep up, or you can just be getting connection lag.

try and minimize teh amount of background applications you have running when playing bf2, as well as make sure your do some regular hard drive defrags

I have 1.5GB of RAM and i'm finding it good, except for a few stutters in the first minute of a game. I run about 20 processes in the background while playing BF2.

I have a 2GB DDR XMS Corsair Memory and I get stutters on the beginning of each map....soooo annoying. But most of the time I'm one of the first few people connected...sometimes its just me alone.

2 gig i recomend the slot on your motherboard work like a car if u have 3x512 rams it wont fire the best because it reads like this if u have 4 x512 it reads
1-3-2-4 now if u have only 3 it doesnt read this way it would read 1-3-2 ?or something it will work fine but bear in mind if u want all out performance
anway 2 gig 4x512 seems to be just enough for me

I would recommend getting 2x 1 gig strips, i have this and never get any stutters, lagg, it plays flawlessly!

Get at least 2 gigs it is fairly cheap and helps alot. Course this is a new PC I just built.

ANY TIME you have lag, look at the activity light on your hard drive. If it is blinking or solid, there is a problem. There is something in the background accessing the hard drive, battlefield is trying to load more stuff off the hard drive into RAM, or you pagefile is being accessed. Ideally all the loading should be done off the hard drive into RAM when you are waiting to join the map. This is why having 2gb helps. It is able to load ALL the data into ram, and not use the harddrive or pagefile during actual play.

Mine stutters with a 3.06 GHz processor... (on the beginning and on "not-seen-this-part-of-the-map-before-in-this-round" areas).

On my comp I really don't stutter that much, maybe half a second then I'm good to go!
