thats ddr 500, the other two he posted are ddr 400 so his mobo probably doesn't support drr 500, (but i dunno it might...)

All motherboards that support DDR400 will support DDR500. All DDR400+ ram is really only DDR400 that is tested and guaranteed to run at the overclocked setting of their rated speed.

Great ram if you OC. I have some and it hits 265mhz+. I think i got a bad pair because i have tried everything and cant reach 270 stable.

Other people have reported 280+ speeds at stock voltage and stock ram settings.



For the OP, there are two spheres of thought I would recommend following. Either get ram because it suites your stock speed needs, or get a "specific" type of ram if you OC or want/require certain timings etc... What i would not recomment is spending $200 on "133t" Cas2 DDR400.

Athlon64 are not affected by latency or bandwidth very much. Personally i could have gone with 2GB of value ram, and I almost did, but i jumped on the G.Skill HZ because I like to OC and like to tinker, to me that was worth a $30 premium over value ram.

Now these $200 sticks are all fine and dandy, but your spending about $50 more to gain 2FPS at best. Yes they are faster than value ram, but we are talking 0-2 FPS on average.

The G.Skill is great if you want to experiment with medium high 1:1 overclocking. I dont always practice what i preach.. LOL and i know going 1:1 gives me only a few percentage points again, same principle... 0-2FPS more but I dont care :laugh: For you i dont know what your finances are like, but value ram is the way to go unless your like me and need/want a specific type of ram for a specific overclocking desire etc...
