Are these pc components compatible with each other?

I am putting together a pc that is just going to be used for business purposes (quicken, email etc). Can you tell me if the hardware I picked out is going to compatible with each other.

PSU- I was going to use a PSU from an older pc I have lying around, but it is 250W and has a 20 pin connector, so I don’t know if its usable.

It’s going to have 1 CD drive, 1 DVD drive and 1 CD Burner. I have a case and Hardrive too. I am working with a very low budget so I don’t want anything too expensive

Yes its all compatible, the old PSu will probably work as long as it has a 4 pin "P4" connector. If its pre pentium 4 i doubt it will work.

Your biggest problem will be with the CD drives. Three of them is alot, only really need 1, two at most.

EDIT 2: You wont be able to connect three CD drives unless you have the hard drive on the same IDE channel as a CD drive. That probably isnt a good idea because it will drop the IDE speed to ATA33 or ATA66 (depending on the CD drive).

Also more CD drives draw more power which isnt a good thing if your on a smallish/oldish PSU.

EDIT 3: ignore Edit 2if you have a SATA Hard drive

also, with that 250w PSU I dont recommend using 3 CD drives....

try buying a 400w PSU... your computer will thank you and live longer...

BooM, why would you need 512 mb of ram anyway? You wouldn't be able to play any new games, and mс office programs should run smothly with 128 mb, so 256 mb would be plenty...

that's a band brand of PSU. Every one I've seen gave the user nothing but trouble.

Well I figured since 256 mb is the minimum for most programs I would get a bit over the minimum and get 521 mb

Its for bussiness, so there will be no gaming on this pc.. as said above.. but yea eveythinglooks good, i would get that better PSu, as 250W is very low if you are going to have 3 CD/DVD drives.

And it would be wise to get the 512 of RAM, it will make the pc last longer and help all programs and the pc to run smoother in general. XP requires a miminum of 256, and we havd an old pc here with that and its mightly slow/laggy when we open firefox/other. So 512 would be good.
