Getting BF2 to run on my laptop

BF2 runs fine on my desktop, but I have problems running it on my new Sager laptop. When you start up BF2, it just exits immediately. I'm running XP Pro, have 2 GB of RAM, 3.2 GhZ processor, and ATI Radeon 9700 mobility graphics card. The graphics card has hardware acceleration disabled. It also has 128 mb of video RAM. I think that the problem is with that. When I open the EAsy Info, it shows everything fine except for Display Memory...It shows as 0 even though I do have 128. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have all the up to date drivers that I can see. Any other guesses?

Try enabling hardware acceleration, that might help.

When I do this, the game actually loads but then all it does is just load a black screen and then flashes. I'm going to check for any other driver updates or alternatives. Any other ideas?

Updating the drivers does nothing for me. I appreciate the help so far, but does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Ok. Here is an update. I can run BF2 now but it is still not working. If I open it, it just sits falshing at a black screen. I can open BF2 through command line, ("C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024), but when it opens it says that there is a shader file missing. The file it asks for is in mods/bf2/shaders/staticmesh.fx. The actual error message is "mods/bf2/shaders/staticmesh.fx not found!!! _DO_ check your working directory, _AND_ sync your shaders folder before calling upon your local rendering programmer/GP.(really!)) I find that message somewhat weird.

The weird thing is that this file is not on my desktop that is work. Anyone have an idea about this?

Try installing the Omega Drivers (link below). I was having problems with most games as I run on a Raedon 9200 mobility and was about to pull my hair out. Worked like a charm.
