x-fi and mic

I have the x-fi platinum card, with the front port thingy so I dont have to put my headphones in the back, and so I can plug it in and cancel the speakers, or unplug it and use the speakers easily.

The thing is, first off it only came with one adapter for a regular input>front panel input for headphones. so I use that one for my audio connector on my headphones. I need to use my mic too, so I found anotehr converter thingy and my mic doesnt work.

Anyone know how to get my mic to work on the front panel of a x-fi card? thanks.

I have the same card, and same set-up, but i do not think you can use voip with this setup because bf2 is mic1 by default, which would be the mic port on the pci card, the mic port on the front is mic2. It will work with vent or ts, you just have to set the mic to mic2/line2.

make sure the knob is selected to mic (turn it all the way anti clockwise)

go 2 game mode, go 2 mixer you should see a bar called recording drop the list down and click line in 2/mic 2 that should do it.
