New Computer.

Since I'm ordering my new computer on March 23rd I thought I would see everyones opinion on it before I ordered it. On my other thread "which 7800gtx should i get" I finally decided to get an ATI X1900XT 512, I've always had an ATI card and have always been treated well. Here's the specs.

I'm using the Ram and Sound Card I have right now until I can come up with some more coin to get OCZ EL Plat. 2x1024 PC3200 and maybe XFI sound card. Keep in mind that my budget was $1900 with taxes and shipping and if I buy anything else I will easily go over $1900.

NIec, pc but i remeber a member here having some problems with that case, they said everything was cramped and it didnt have that good air flow. I recomend a Thermaltake Tsunami.

Thats one of the dumber things ive ever heard.

Especially since hes using a SATA drive, in which often times you must load the third-party drivers so windows installation can detect the drive at all. And this process requires a floppy drive. :)

^ i'm running two SATA drives, one 250gb one 160gb,


neither needed floppy's for windows installation to detect them and infact one of them is a seagate barracuda.

i do not have a floppy drive, well i do but their gathering dust.. all 12 of them.

but more to the point theres no need TO BUY A NEW ONE

go to any body who has owned previous computers and ask if they have aspare floppy drive the answer will more than likely be yes.

Some Sata HDDs require you to load drivers because windows does not come with all sata drivers. its the same with a lot of other drivers.

Floppys are also good as a boot disk.

I needed a floppy for my Printer because Microsoft dont support old hardware. However I havent needed a floppy disk for Linux yet it supports just about all hardware now.
