120Gb Seagate 7200RPM SATA HDD - $108.00
ATI X800GT 16X PCI-E 256Mb - $238.00

Total - $1431

What do you guys think?

BTW its all in AUD... And please dont suggest like 2x 7800GTX as i dont have alot of money. But yea.. opinions please. :)

Get a cheaper CPU and get a beefier graphics card? If you already have a optical drive, you can save a bit by reusing it in your new pc.

Is that good or bad to have? (i don tknow much about mobo's) Im also thinking of dropping back to a 3500+ as its alot cheaper, but i really would like a Dual Core.

Also, how does the 7600Gt do as a vid card compared to the original i have up there?

The Nforce chipset is arguably the best one for AMD. I would definetly get a dual core. A 7600 GT is a considerably better choice than the X800 GT.

Excelent, well ill see if i can stick with the 3800+ X2, as i do alot of video and graphical and mucial editing, etc, so it will come in handy then. And yea just looking at some benchmarks, the 7600Gt looks like a grea mid range card, far better than the x1600 and almost as good, sometimes better than the x1800.

Another thing, would it be worth putting anout $100 into getting an SLI mobo so in a few years i can just add another 7600GT?

For the case, go with the tsunami without a psu, the one it has is prob. pretty crappy.

I too have the opportunity and finances to build a computer...very close to the specs you've listed. My hesitation, though, is due to the upcoming release of the the new AM2 processors, which will require all new ram and Mobo. With the talk of the dx10 cards coming soon as well, I am having a hard time making a decision as to whether build now or wait another year...
Any thoughts?

As far as the Antec P180...

It was someone on this Forum that said what a crappy case it was. Very flimsy, and barely in room when you have anything in there.

The PSU your thinking of getting is generic. If your thinking of SLI, you'll need one that's SLI Ready. If not, a PSU above 400w will do the job for you. Make sure there is good amperage on the +12V rail(s). Seeing as the 7600GT does not need an external power connector, you might be able to get away with a 500w one for SLI.

As for the case. If you really like it, contact them to see if their willing to sell it to you at a lower price without the PSU.

Why not get a 7900gt for less that the 7600gt? I'm just looking at the prices on your post and it says 7600gt = 341?
