    Fans

Now my rig is about 1 1/2 to 2 years old, running the same fans as when i bought it and built it.

I love it it does what i need it to but i have one big problem,

    noise.

The main culprits are a 120mm front intake fan whihc is noisey as hell, a side 90mm "presscott cooling" duct fan and ofcourse a stock prescott p4 cooler.

When it comes to fans i know u can buy all these stealthy ones but im worried they dont have as much airflow, can someone recommend me replacement fans that have a good airflow but are still quiet?

blue led versions would be nice but not needed.

    thanks in advance.

      Re: Fans

I recommend just getting a fan controller to turn the noise down on those fans. Get something like the Sunbeam Rheobus:

        Re: Fans

already have a fan controller, and theres no point in turning them down as then the cooling performance goes down and they are still quite noisey, the front 120mm fan especially.

my fan controller/ temp reader died and started smoking so I took it out. the battery died is what happened, I think making it run off a battery is the stupides thing

^ er i dont think it would start smoking from the battery dying its probably an overloaded component that would start it smoking.

An Antec smart fan may work, it will adjust spped acording to temps.

Agreed. I have 2x 12cm and 1x8cm Antec Tricool LED fans in my system. The 3-speed switch lets you decide if you want performance or silence. The stock Prescott fan shoudn't be very loud, only a slight hum which is just audible. If your finding it unbearable, then a Zalman CPU cooler or an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro.

^ one is incompatible with my motherboard ad the freezer 7 pro is for socket 775's , but no the p4 stock cooler is the loudest thing in my case i would make a recording if i could, its not unbearable but its also not cooling my processor very well idling at 50 degrees 70 when playing bf2.

probably going to find an Aeroflow if i cant ill have to settle for and aeroflow 2 as they will do the job nicely.
