Take a look @ that, should be good as he's a powerseller. 7800 GO graphics card and 2GB of ram, should run BF2 fine.

Dell make decent laptops but ****ty desktops, for the price I don't think it can be beaten. I know that one has ended but he's got more for sale. I hate dell as much as anyone else on these forums but the laptops are ok, you can't buy anything direct from dell thats anywhere near that good for the price he's selling at. If you want some more help mate just PM me.

That dell looks quite good but the hard disk is only 5400rpm, wont that mean really slow loading, defragmenting installing and just about everything else?

ive never noticed on mine but, i suppose its a compromise for the level of spec you get for that price.

most laptop spec's i have looked at have 5400 rpm drives unless its a gaming one whihc you pay over the odds for.

Re: Looking for a decent UK Notebook

My old laptop hard drive was 5400rpm, it wasnt that slow. For gaming you want to be worrying about the graphics card more than anything else. but for a few more £££

If it does load first time click refersh and it should, I think Ebay have a problem at the moment. By the way I don't have anything to do with this guy/girl but I like the look of those prices!!!!

I looked round his ebay shop and came across this:
                  Any idea why this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-DELL-Inspi...QQcmdZViewItem

                  Is more expensive than

As far as i can see they are the same but the latter has a 100GB 7200rpm where as the top one has 80GB 5400RPM

Thats a bit strange, most probably something to do with how much he gets them for. All I would say is make sure the laptop you buy has a Go 7800GTX and 2GB of ram.

E-mail the guy, he's a powerseller so he should be safe, most probably refurbished but it has a 1 year warranty so should be fine. But if not maybe here?

oh yeh be careful about where u place your notebook

IT IS NOT A LAPTOP its a notebook u cannot place notebooks on your lap they need clearance for cooling.

plus turbo go's can get seriously hot, i know someone who has had to send his back becuase it actually started to melt the casing and stopped working.

Mine used to do the same with the ATI mobility 9700pro, to solve the problem I brought one of those notebook coolers and it worked a treat, I used to play BF2 for 8-10 hours straight round my mates house with no problems after I brought a cooler, it just tilts the laptop and blows cool air underneath, I had this one for example-
