Need help with new graphics card please

I really want to buy BF2 and don't have an adequate graphics card (GeForce 4). Could you give me advice as to what card I should be getting. It has to be as cheap as possible (max £100 - I'm in UK!) I hope that can get me a card good enough to run BF2 acceptably.

My PC specs:

Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2
System Manufacturer: ASUS
System Model: A7N8X-X
Processor: AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3000+, MMX, 3DNow, ~2.2GHz
Memory: 1GB RAM
Soundblaster Audigy

The Nvidia 6600GT is in your price range. You should be able to play BF2 on medium settings with this. I'd also recommend another 512mb or 1GB of extra RAM.

The 6600GT will do the job.

The x1600pro is also in your price range, though i am not sure how it compares. You might want to get some feedback from others.

If you could stretch to £130 then i would recommend the BFG GeForce 6800 GS OC.

256mb of video ram will make quite a difference, especially textures.

Allyboom, the "This week only" deal for the 6800GS AGP has gone...

Not too far out of the £100 budget is a OcUK GeForce 6600 GT 256MB for £112.

Xfx Makes one of the better Nvidia cards on the market in my opinion. Stay away from PNY, or BFG.

Why BFG? They still make really good cards, and you don't get to be the no.1 nvidia retailer in the US by making a crappy product.

Why BFG? They still make really good cards, and you don't get to be the no.1 nvidia retailer in the US by making a crappy product.

Actually the only reason they are no.1 is because of volume, they are dedicated vendors of Nvidia products at Circuit City, BestBuy and Compusa, all ****e places to buy any hardware if you ask me.

Yeah, but they still make great cards. Where they are sold isn't really that important.
