theres nothing I hate more than drivers

I serisouly have a bad aura with me and drivers. I just spend well over an hour trying to fix my x-fi drivers because they randomly broke. And yes they actually did, they were working, I load BF2 (like for the 4th time after playing previously that night) and my audio is gone. It wont let me change my settings or anything because it says I dont have the right hardware. I reinstall, uninstall, change drivers a million times, It keeps breaking, and freezing and blah blah blah finally I uninstall everything, reinstall everything from the disk, it still doesnt work, so I download the newest drivers from the creative website and thank the lord it works. ugh.

Yep, drivers suck, especially ones made by creative.

it just I mean, sometimes it takes my windows over 15 minutes to boot because of bad drivers, or having problem with BIOS it just gets to you after a while.

You need to manually switch from game mode to entertainment mode

Generally....if there are large issues like this with drivers, it tends to be a user end error.

Not trying to insult you, but installing drivers can go wrong, or settings can be set wrong, etc.

Although, it is worth noting that creative does make crap drivers as matdef pointed out. So its quite possibly nothing you did.

Yeah, this just happened to me last week with Xfi. I'm trying out the beta ones now.
