    PC Vid card

I'm going to upgrade in a few weeks to a 3200+ amd 64 (would it be better if i said the equivlent to a 3500, going to overclock)

    So a 3500+ 64bit Athlon.
    2gig of ddr ram

And one of these cards :

    6800 GS
    • 485MHz Core Engine Clock speed
    • 512MB 1300MHz high speed GDDR3 memory
    • Superscalar 12-Pipe GPU Architecture
    • High-Speed DDR 256-bit Memory Interface
    • Dual 400MHz RAMDACs
    Or
    Connect 3d Radeon X850XT 256MB GDDRIII PCI-E

Im not sure what the specs are but which will be better and what do i get to run it on.

Im hoping 1024x768, High everything, 4xaa medium filtering

    The 6800GS for sure, but I don't think you'll need 512MB though ...

Wait for the 7600 cards to come out later this week. 6800 series is old hat, no reason to get 2 year old technology if the new stuff is the same price.

Ok thanks, also i'm only on a budget for £400, for a cpu, ram, mobo, and vid card.

        That's like 700 dollars i think, 650

Between those two cards, 6800GS all the way, its more future proof than the x850 because of SM 3.0

              ??? the 6800gs only has a 256-bit memory interface... getting a 512mb 6800gs over a 256mb 6800gs would be a waste of money.
Notice how everyone recommends the 128mg 6600gt over the 256mb 6600?
I would also suggest seeing how the 7600 does before buying anything... I think they come out tomorrow
