Joystick ain't working

I recently had to plug out my joystick (Microsoft Sidewinder ) because my mouse didn't work and had to plug in a USB mouse. I plugged in my stick again and it didn't react at all. I tried reconfiguring all settings, but BF2 doesn't seem to see it anymore.

It does work when I run a calibration test, but it won't in BF2. How can I solve this?

You are not able to remap it at all? If you haven't tried remapping, then try remapping it.

If so, try deleting your controls.con file under your My Documents\Battlefield 2 profile and try again.
