Motherboard, and cpu help

I'm wanting to buy a new motherboard, and CPU. Can anyone recommend me something. I wants something decent. I got a geforce 6800 gt, and right now I got one gig of ram. I got two slots for gigs, but staples is telling me I can't have more then 1 gig. So I want something that will give me more gig, and a little faster processor then the 2.5 p4 I got now. Thanks for any help.

Is the gt a agp card? Also, what type is the ram.

sorry forgot, it is an agp, and I don't want to buy a new card just for pci-e.. lol. Budget is not a problem.

Pick up a X2 3800+, AsROCK Dual mobo that support AGP and PCie, and pick up 2GB Value DDR ram 2x 1GB sticks kit. Corsair or OCZ are good valur brands.

Pick up a 120-250 GB SATA 16MB cache hard drive, 7200RPM and you will want a new powersupply as well.

Thats a good starting point.
