Just to let you know, I bought a 6600 for my old rig, and the Ram on it got so hot it fried itself, do not know why.

Read the post above! 6600 cant be that old and slow if many ppl still use it.

The card came out in september 2004, its ancient in the tech world. The 7600 should be out before the end of the month, its a great card for the money, but the 6600 series' time has passed.

I'm asking what your total specs are so that i can see if you even need to upgrade.

I would consider buying used, a 6600GT or a 6800 AGP are in the sub $130 range used.

High testures require 2GB or ram for most people, I had a 6600gt and ran the following.

Terrian - High
Geometry - High
Texture - Med
Lighting - Med
Shadows - High
AA - 2x
Texture Filtering - High

Paired with a A64 3000+ and 1GB or ram.

6800 is comparable to the 6600gt, so you should see about the same with either.

The card i metioned will it run Texture, Geometry, and terrian on Med? and Lighting and shadows on low? Cause I really want the texture and terrain on med !

It depends on your CPU and what your definition of acceptable framerate is. I cant speak personally to the performance of these cards in BF2, but I am sure you can google some results.

In an online FPs framerate is king, so you will probably want to run it on low, its not like your missing out on much.
