Notebook and BF2 ?

Hello,
i want to buy a new PC and i want to buy a Notebook for serveral reasons.

Do u think it possible to play BF2 on medium grafics (1024-resolution) on a notebook of ca 1000 Euros ?

e.g. i thought of this one :

AMILO Pi 1536
Intel Centrino Duo (1,66Ghz 2 MB L2 Cache, 667 MHz FSB)
1024 MB DDR2 RAM
ATI Mobility Radeon X1400 PCI-Express 128 MB ( -521 MB Hypermemory)

Do u think it possible, and if DO U THINK U CAN KEEP ON PLAYING SEVERAL HOURS without overheating... i heard Notebooks can become very fast instabil...

It will play the game, but not "well"

You will want a higher end graphics card, 2GB of ram, and a beefier CPU for solid gameplay.

The biggest problem with laptops is your confined to the native resolution of the LCD (which lately in the last 2 years) means a very high resolution.... alot of the newer widescreen laptops are 1680x1050 resolution, though many are slower than that, some are higher even.

Being confined at one resolution means you have to have a fast enough video card to keep pace, otherwise everything looks like crap.

Well, it all depends on whether the notebook you buy for $1000 CA is a stolen $4000 CA notebook or not...:laugh:

you can play and it wont heat up too much dont worry, but u wont be able to play on any more than medium, low-medium setings.

med-low settings intel core duo is a good CPU and is the best mobile cpu around. Also does not get all that hot so you should be fine.

med settings is fyne! im hoping to get a dell 6400 myself with core duo 1.83ghz, 1gig in 1 dimm so i can upgrade later if i feel i need to, 100gb 7200rpm HD and the horribly adequate ati mobile x1400 256mb

you can also run a laptop cooler if temps seem to be a problem.
