    Laptop playing Battlefield2?

Well yes sorry to annoy you all once again. it seems my laptop is old and broken (almost) and i need a new one. but i would also like one that plays Battlefield 2 and such so i typed in a search and results were ABS Mayhem G3 video card is compatible with the game and its a dedicated video. it has 512 mb on it (DDR) ill get a cooling fan with it if it works for bf2. and well it looks promising and nice. Is ABS Reliable? will this computer play BF2? need some answers. Thanks again guys sorry for bugging you :)

hmm..first off some laptops dont allow to add or remove andy hardware..and i would say at least 1 gig of ram and i dont think that the Video card you have is supported by bf2. since u say your laptop is dying out..it might be easier to invest in a Desktop PC with at least a AMD and 1 gig of ram and a 6600 and u will be just fine playin the game on med. settings.

***EDIT. didnt u have a nother thread about buying a desktop PC..and u really wanted a Pre-Built? Just save the money and buy the parts and take them to bestbuy and ask the geeksquad to but them together for u (for a fee of course).

    Hope this helps

ABS makes good laptops and computers, but make sure you have enough RAM and hard drive space for the future. also, you might want to make sure the video card is compatible.

I do not think it will work because my computer has 1014 mb. If you want that computer you will probably have to coustomize it.

K i just looked at those links the Alienware has only 1.7 ghz and it costs like 150 to upgrade it. And as people warned me about dell i dont think ill go for it. Guess i go for the current one? Itll be $1116 wit shipping because i upgraded ghz and added a cooling pad :)

Dell laptops are fine, its the desktops that suck and should be avoided at all costs. Do you have a link for that abs laptop?

If you are willing to spend a little more money you can use those e-coupons and get a 17" Dell E1705 with intel dual core cpu, and geforce go 7800 for around $400.00 more than that ABS.

True it's $400.00, but we are talking over double the performance. Also, the video card on the e1705 is upgrabable in the future.

It may be more money than your willing to throw at a laptop, but I thought I would mention the option.

Dell laptops are actualy very nice. You can check the above forums for user opinions which I would value higher than heresay opinions about dell.

                            Good Luck.

i have a dell laptop with geforce 6800 Go! card

it plays bf2 ok, low settings across the board, no shadows

personally i would never play on it, but it does work
