Unless you REALLY REALLY wanna waste a couple hundred bucks on a PC that will disappoint you.. (Not recommended.)

If you ABSOLUTELY MUST buy a pre-built PC, stay away from Dell and Compaq.

Braheem, hello, everyone is specifically telling you NOT to buy pre-built!

Even if you are nervous about putting apart a computer, you could go to a technician and get him/her to do it for you.

I was thinking in buying not a prebuilt computer but like the ones that guy suggested. but then you need to add another 100 bucks for a video card another 100 bucks for windows xp and then another 60 bucks for like 1gb memory. Well I guess i must go with you guys but im still skeptical ive never had a "gaming computer" i play counterstrike and my comp works fine on it. I hope i dont have to buy another screen for that gaming system. thanks guys.

Why do you come on here make a thread asking for advice, and then ignore every piece of advice going your way? Pre built computers suck, my compaq gave me nothing but headaches. listen buy a dell or compaq but don't come crying here when the P.O.S. sucks. Its pretty unanimous here, nobody thinks(knows) its a good idea to buy premade computers.

Why not buy the parts you want, then ask them to put it all together for you?

                              Re: After careful concideration.

If you haven't bought your computer yet, and live in the US, and don't mind some parts that were used for 4 months, I can build you a computer that I'll offer 1 year tech support on for less then your dell. It'll run better and play at higher specs. I just upgraded from agp to pci-e and have a Saphire X850XT PE videocard and an Asus A8V and I'll give you my AMD 3200+ Venice core (overclocks on stock cooling and voltage to 2.4ghz stable), you're choice on case, dvd drive and hard drive. The computer will probably cost around $700-900 depending on which case you want. I'll ship it to you for free. I'm doing this because my roomate and I are working on opening a computer store and this would be the equivilant of an artist adding to their porfolio. If you're interested, PM me. Good luck.

PS I know it's scary to think about building your own computer when you've never done it before. As far as you know, "Leave it to the professionals". But in all honesty the parts are overpriced, underpowered, very very picky about upgrading (usually you have to use an overpriced part made by the same company who made the pc and it's the equivilant of low budget value hardware). I also know that you don't believe us that a built computer is better. I know that the idea of having a Dell, HP, Gateway, or even Alienware tech support on call for whatever problem occurs gives you a peace of mind, but that's the ONLY reason these companys even exist. Unfortunately, every problem you have (and you'll have problems whether you build or buy prebuilt) will be hell to fix over the phone after being on hold for an hour.

If you're interested, PLEASE PM me. I might even be able to build you a better computer for less.

For all moderators, this is not a scam or trying to sell my services. All the work would be for free, he'd only be buying parts (I'll prove it to him with receipts). My personal information is as follows:
