Dual Channel 1GB or 2GB RAM?

Is it better to get 1GB in Dual Channel or have 2x1gb sticks of different brands?

2 GB...

I did 4 sticks of mixed RAM to give me 2 GB and my performance went up IMMENSELY compared to upgrading to 2 faster matched sticks giving me 1 GB in dual channel.

2x 1Gb of different branded ram will still run in dual channel. The density of all 1Gb sticks is the same so you just have to relax the timings if one stick is slower than the other.

i'm getting 2 gigs aswell not a matched pair but just 2 x 1 gig kingston so that's kinda the same...

Its gunna be nice having 2 gigs. It sure beats the 768mb I have now!
