Good 5.1 headset for BF2?

I bought the Plantronics dsp-500 headset thinking it would solve my problems of needing a headset yet not wanting to have to unplug my speakers. It really screwed up my mouse and keyboard during gaming though, like tons of lag and some of the commands were lost.

Any recommendations on another headset, i am thinking of just using the normal 3.5mm plugs. doesn't necisarrily have to be 5.1 (the plantronics sounded really good with 3d sounds even though it was only 2 speakers)

I was looking at getting that headset. How could a headset screw up your keyboard, and mouse? Just curious..

i use my headset that I got for my playstation 2. it works pretty good but I choose not to use it cause my speakers really suck, and i rather just use my koss studio headphones.

mine is non-5.1 Sennheiser PC160SK . not bad for its price. $65 canadian dollars.

That's the short version.

A longer version is that the positioning and sound quality from this card is phenominal. With a standard headset (non 5.1) you can clearly hear where people are all the way around you, in addition to above and below (something a 5.1 headset can't do).

I am supposing that with my mouse and keyboard also on the USB, it is putting too much strain on the bus. But then again i don't know anything.

So you are saying with the soundblaster x-fi i don't even need 5.1 headphones?

to tell you the truth my headset was only like $30 (US) and it works perfectly. Also, the cushion for the ears is rele comfortable. I orginally had a generic pair from radio shack, but my dog got a hold of it and no more mic. I bought a generic pair from circut city for 30 bucks, and works perfectly
