quick question, i have surround sound for my dvd player, am i gonna be able to hook that up to my sound card?

like a dvd player outside your computer and you want to hook it up to your sound card? Shouldn't you just kook it up to some speakers or a receiver? or am I missing something?

What kind of speakers are we talking about here?
If you are using a surround sound receiver, then yes, it should be possible if that receiver has a "Multi Input" or "Passthrough" mode.
It's actually how I have mine set up right now.
Oh, and telling us the what speakers and soundcard you have would help. :)
