BSOD when installing RAID0 Need Help

got my PC a week ago and i first set it up without raid to make sure everything worked, it did. then decided to try raid0 yesterday. I have two identical Hard Drives. In bios i turned RAID on then i set up an array between the two drives, pressed F6 and leaded the two drivers for the NvRAID from my MOBO's CD and then continued the installation like normal. It showed me that i have 300 something GB ( i had two drives by 160G) did a Standart format to make sure both were working, they did. When the PC restarted to continue the installation it got into the XP loading screen gave me an error really fast( too fast to read) and then it restarted and keept restarting each time it gets into that screen.

I tried to reinstall XP again, pressed F6 to load up the drivers, let it contine loading them but once it finishes loading the first drives XP always installs and then it restarts.

I would like to consider that i have med-high PC knowladge but i only tried to set a raid up one time before and i failed.

MOBO: Asus A8N32 Deluxe
Proc: X2 4800
RAM: 2 gigs of OCZ Plat at 2-3-2-5
HDD: 2x Hitachi deskstars 160G SATA

i'm sorry if some of the pics are a bit blury. I didn't have my tripod around me. Also i forgot to mention that this is XP HOME UPGRADE preloaded with SP2. I had an old Win98 laying around, which saved me $100 letting me get upgrade and not full

or you can just not use raid as it isn't worth it for gaming :)

is ur mobo have a built in raid? are u using a card? why dont u try raid1.

Because raid 1 is a waste on consumer hardware. It only protects hardware failure, and in the process eating the space of one of his drives. If he gets a virus or accidentally deletes something Raid 1 protects him from jack &$%.

I prefer no raid, but if you need to go raid, use raid 0 and get a small performance increase in specialized tasks. Raid 1 is a waste and incremental monthy or weekly backups to a 3rd drive or a DVD/CDRW makes much more sense. Back up music/movies and thats all the typical gamers really needs backed up.

i dont care about RAID1 caz the only thing i care about is performance. I would not mind reinstalling my PC if one of my drives crashed a few years from now. I reinstall it twice a year to maximize performance anyway. RAID 0 would yeild almost twice the response time and therefore should mean faster game loads. With my 2 gigs of ram i'm the first in 99% of BF2 games anyway but i would not mind meing the first in 99.99%. LOL

Anyway, if you looked at my original post my MOBO is Asus A8N32 Deluxe, which is the best your money can get. It has two raid controllers the Silicon ( which is used to raid only 1 internal drive with one external drive) or NVRAID ( which lets me set up up 2 raids or a raid with 4 internal drives)

I don't have many expierience with RIAD 0 , but I do know that the standard raidcontrolers on a mainboard cause many many problems .

I think you better look for a BIOS update first,
then just retry installing from scratch .
