LCD monitor damage-

Well my LCD monitor got hit by a airsoft gun bb richochet, it put a small crack/warp near the middle of the screen, for a new replacement monitor its 300$(Which i dont realy have). Has anyone ever had there lcd monitors repaired, what im thinking is that if i find a repair place, that they might be able to replace the layer of screen... anyway the monitor that i have is - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824116359

.. i think i've got bad news.. the repair is gonna cost almost as much as a new lcd monitor i think.. because they're gonna pull out the lcd unit and put in a new one...so...WHO THE HELL SHOT YOUR MONITOR ?

I did.. well we were shooting at a box, and SOMEHOW a bb richoched off of the box and hit it i guess, we were shooting then i came back to the pc and found it like this. Thanks for the bad news lol.

oh mann I am sorry to hear that (next time you shoot airsoft guns cover up you screen lol)
but I hope this all gets sorted out for you and ends up with a better monitor

if you want a cheap replacment buy a CRT off ebay $90 for 19"

I think i may just do that, Ive heard that crts are better fro gaming then lcds, is this true? and how do you like theone you have?>

Not any more, the refresh rates are so much better than they used to be. Honestly lcd's may give a "false sense of color" but I enjoy the brightness of everything.

With an LCD the refresh rates are different, and your eyes dont hurt as much then with a CRT monitor after long periods of use.

one of the reasons that I chose an lcd over a crt is because there is whole lot less glare with a flat screen

Well, the crack is only about the size of this smiley. :)
