    Speakers

I have recently bought some Creative Inspire P7800 7.1 speakers. But I can only get five and the subwoofer to work. There are four wires that plug into the sub and three that plug into the onboard sound of my mobo. I think the problem may be I need another plug going into my mobo (there is a spot for it).

So if that is right do you know where I could get an eight plug wire, four on each side. I have looked but couldn't find them.

But if I am wrong can you give me some advice.

*My mobo does support 7.1 (gigabyte pro-sli)

    Re: Speakers

Have you changed the setting in "Control Panel > Sounds, Speech and Audio Devices > Sound and Audio Devices > (Under Speaker Settings) Advanced" to either '7.1 home theater speakers' or '7.1 wide configuration speakers'?

I heard about this probleme in the newegg reviews section when you buy these speakers they dont come with a 7.1 cable...you need to order a cable for true 7.1 to work all 7 speakers..

            Re: Speakers

Yeah, thats what I sort of came to. But I have no idea where to get one, I have searched newegg, but I couldn't find one. I probably just wasn't using the right technical name

Do any you know where I could find a 7.1 cable. 8 plugs total, 4 at each end.

            Where I got them

Dunno if you can get it at newegg but im sure if you go to some electronic or sound audio store and ask them for a 7.1 cable for your speakers they will probably have it...

The speaker cables are properly RCA right?

                  Re: Speakers

dunno...what you mean RCA as in the comapany RCA then I dont think so but getthing a 7.1 cable it really dosen;t matter witch company it is you just need one to work all 7speakers. Go somewhere like BestBuy or something they will tell you exacly where and how to get it all working.

                    Re: Speakers

Well, I went to Radioshack and they were clueless. I am just going to send an email to customer support (creatives is ridiculusly slow) and go to best buy and ask them
