Saitek cyborg evo problems

I got my evo joystick a week ago. When I am testing the buttons in the control panel some buttons seem to go on when I think they should not. When I press the trigger it shows the trigger and buttons 2,3, and 4 being pressed. When I press button 5 it shows 5,6,f1 and f2. When I press button f3 it shows f3,f4, left arrow and the right arrow buttons. Is this normal. Thanks for your help.

If you are saying that multiple buttons are lit simultaneously that is definitely a problem
