It can run it, but I dont suggest OCing, you MIGHT be able to pull off a small OC on the CPU and GPU, but I wouldnt try it. run at stock for now, the 3200+ wont bottleneck anyways at 2.0ghz. then someday get a bigger PSU.

The card needs at least 20-24A on the 12v, he stated he only had 18A. I went from a 6800GT @ ultra speeds on my old 420W 18A PSU to the 7800GT and it crashed whenever trying to load up any 3d application. The 7800GT needs Fewer Watts than a 6800GT, but it needs more amps on the 12V. So no, it probably won't work.

It means that the PSU has divided it's 12V output amps between two seperate power rails - Rail 1 and Rail 2. All total, you should have 34 amps available on your +12V leads which is good. The reason companies make them this way is to inrease amperage while reducing the load (read heat) on any single PSU Output component.

Yes, knghtwhosaysni is correct. In fact - the 7800 takes less power than does the 6xxx series of cards.

The peak consumption of the 7800 GS is around 75W. Using the standard Wattage, Voltage and Amperate formula - this equals 6.25 amps max consumption for the video card. It still needs a molex connector to give it more power than the AGP Port can provide, but it is still easier on the PSU and heat dissipation.

He was talking about the AGP 7800GS in his post. The thread starter said 7800GT...

I have double checked and the power comsumption is relatively the same for PCIe and for the AGP counterparts.
