platinum, fatality is just a marketing gimmick and there is no use for the xram at this point. -

Out of those two choices, I'd also go with platinum, but I would suggest going with XtremeMusic and saving a couple bucks. Maybe get a 5.1 system with the saved money.Comment

Neither. XtremeMusic. All others are pointless, and the ones that aren't are overpriced.Comment

Re: xfi- platinum or fata1ty?
I have the fata1ty and it rules, i love it its sound quality is superb. Also the extreame music is flawed BADLY. if your like me have a mic pluged in and 5.1 system in and you plug something like an ipod in the line in socket, you cant do that as theyve made the mic plug a plug that can plug just about anything in it ao theres only 1 of therm. But the fatal1ty has a front panel that will enable you, plug all sorts of stuff in!
falta1ty all the way

Re: xfi- platinum or fata1ty?
well about the xram, it has almost no use now, but in the future, for newer games it will definitly come in handy. so im not sure.... im leaning towards platinum because its cheaper (and BTW, im not getting xtrememusic so dont ask) but the xram might come in handy. i dunno. is their any spound quality difference, or anything OTHER than the xram?Comment

Re: xfi- platinum or fata1ty?
actually both platinum and fatal1ty have the drive for the front, only the xtreme music doesnt. but, the x-ram really is what im wondering about. because, it says in the future it will serisouly come in handy for games, but by the time games need it, they will have better newer sound cards out, so I dunno.Comment

Re: xfi- platinum or fata1ty?
You really don't need the extra xram, and since there's no guarantee it'll ever be used just go for the platinum.Comment

Just bought a XFI-music today. Am extremely pleased with it sofar. The Ultra settings sound Crisp. The truth is, both the cards you mention are just marketing variations of the same hardware. Save your money and get the Music, it sincerely rocks.Originally posted by Sir. MatDefYou really don't need the extra xram, and since there's no guarantee it'll ever be used just go for the platinum.

Its stupid to go with anything BUT the XtremeMusic. X-RAM is pointless, and a front panel is pointless AND looks ugly. No difference in sound quality...Comment

Re: xfi- platinum or fata1ty?
Haha yeah.. sorry but i personally go for X-treme music.... No need the x-ram coz nowadays ...people had gaming rig with 2 gigs of ram... Whats the point for having 64 x-ram... its pretty much useless.. read the hardware zone at gamespot...Comment
