I've got 500 bucks CDN as a bonus from work and I want to use it to upgrade my system. Here is my dilemma:

1. Get the evga 7800 GS CO AGP from Tigerdirect for 518 shipped.

or

2. Get the evga 6800 GS CO AGP and 1 gig of Corsair Value Ram.

This is the system it will be going into:
AMD XP 2600+ @ 2.02 MHz
MSI K7N2 Delta-L
ThermalTake True Power 420 Watt PSU
Dual Western Digital Caviar 7200 RPM 120 GB HDs
Kingston 256 x 2 PC 3200 DDR 400 RAM
Corsair 1024 MB PC 3200 DDR 400 RAM
Samsung 16x DVD-ROM/RW
LG 52x32x52
HIS RADEON 9600 XT TURBO 128 MB DDR PLATINUM VIVO EDITION 500 MHz/325 MHz

I'd go with the 6800gs and the 1gb stick of ram. Ditch the 256mb sticks and you have 2gb of ram and an excellent graphics card too.

There would be no point in getting even a 6800 GS with only 512mb of ram. You will be better off getting the ram and video card.

Sry, saw the first set of ram and assumed that was all. I'd still go with the 6800 GS and ram.
