Match the colors for dual channel. It won't make a diffrence in power usage.

Don't buy anything with the name fatality on it, it's just a marketing ploy to take your money.

            Wrong.

MSI doesn't do the color matching thing...read the manual instead!!! I have an MSI K8N Neo4-F...the slots for dual channel are 1+2 or 3+4, or 1+2+3+4 only. Which are green/blue/green/blue.

I know what other mobos do, MSI does it differently. Check the manual!!!!
            .
            .
            .
Edit: just checked a picture of the ms-7093...apparently they have changed the color combinations of their slots to conform to the other mobo makers method. They now seem to put the colors side by side instead of alternating like my mobo.

Still, check the manual for confirmation seeing as MSI now has 2 methods of inserting dual channel across their mobo line.

Yeah, but abtomat74 has the same board as me and for some reason msi didn't color the banks that way. For us it looks like the ram goes in 1+3 and 2+4, but the actual ram slots for dual channel are 1+2, and 2+4.

Why? Because reading the manual that comes with the mobo is too difficult? It is clearly mentioned, the guy just needed a nudge in the right direction to look for it.

No, mostly because MSI are a sub-par company. On top of that they want to make things more difficult by not following the standard practice of other motherboard makers. Did I say MSI was crap? Oops, just did.

Nah, I recommend a range of boards. DFI for overclocking, Asus for the non-overclocker, and Epox for the budget builder. Abit has fallen behind since the Intel 875 chipset. There are other good companies, but I can't think of any reason I would recommend MSI.

I can think of 5 reasons...the last 5 comps built using MSI mobos are still running perfectly. Never had a single issue with them, good enough for me as a non-overclocker.
