x800 XL vs 7800 GS?

Alright I hate to post another one of these threads, but I just need a little push in either direction. I had previously planned on upgrading to the x800xl, but now with the 7800 GS released I'm re-thinking that decision.

I'll build a complete new system with PCI-E in a year, so the whole, "Why not upgrade your board and get PCI-E?" comments are not needed. I just want some visual bliss now with my current build and $300-325 is my limit.

Your thoughts?
Any other suggestions?

That's a tough one, I havn't seen any benches on the 7800GS. On paper the X860XT looks better, but things aren't always as they seem to be on paper. The 7800GS will however score better on 3dMArk06, but real-world I have no idea.

X850 is faster, 7800 has transparency AA... go with the better image quality every time

Well I took the plunge and just orderd the eVGA 7800 GS OC Superclocked, see you on the battlefield. Really 'see you' that is. Thanks for the input guys.

eVGA has a great program called step-up as well as lifetime waranty on their cards even if you OC or change the stock cooling. Thats what this is my first of many eVGA cards.

7800gs also has hdr and shader model 3

from the reviews it overclocks good too

I have a 7800GT and would recommend it. Newegg is selling them for 285 or so right now.
