New SATA Drive

I just got a 40gb SATA drive today for back up my files, it shows up good in the BIOS but it dosnt show up under My Computer

It even shows up when i go to Device Maneger

Is there a setting i have to enable? This is my second SATA drive

Go to device manger, right click on the new drive and click format.

Oh yea, it didnt come with any jumpers, should i put one in?

Here you go:
Go to Start, My Computer: Right click on "My Computer"
Select Manage
Go to Disk Management
You will see a disk that is unlabled and unfomatted
Right-Click and select Create new partition
Select Primary
Use default for the rest
Select Quick Format unless you are bored.
And C'est Viola! You are done!

Thank, i totaly forgot about that, once i made it to disk management it all hit me back in the face lol

Did you actually buy a 40gb drive brand new?

Do you realize that 300GB harddrives are like 100$ now?

yea, it was $50 and i didnt need all the extra space, i have a 200gb SATA2 for my main drive, i just needed something small

and if they are that cheap for ya, send me one
