Ok, cool, so is there anyway of finding out through the BIOS about the locking, i couldnt see anything, and ive looked in Everest and it doesnt say.

In the BIOS there may be an option called PCI lock or AGP lock or something like that. On some you have to set it to 34 or 67 for it to work.

Yea, i had another look, and i couldnt see any options like that, but ( i don tthink it would be it) but i didnt know, i dont know what these options are or if they were it...

Your motherboard has the VIA KT800PRO chipset. Some of the motherboards with this chipset have a working AGP/PCI lock and some don't. It might also be dependent on the BIOS version. You need to google a bit to find out if your motherboard has a working lock. When you increase FSB above 220Mhz it is recommended to turn down the hypertransport speed from 5x to 4x. Your BIOS should have an option for this. It can also be called HT or HTT.

Even if your motherboard has a working lock you can still run into problems with the SATA controller. If you still get corruption after turning down the hypertransport to 4x you can check if your motherboard has 4 sata ports and try 3 or 4. If this doesn't help check if your motherboard has an extra SATA controller like Silicon Image. This is connected to the PCI bus and if your motherboard has a working lock this will work regardless of how high you overclock FSB. The solution I used when I overclocked my motherboard to 270FSB was to use the IDE controller instead.

Another problem you will run into is memory timings, memory voltage and cpu voltage. Say your standard memory timings are 2.5 3-3-7 then you might have to go to 3 4-4-8 to get a stable overclock at 220+. You might also have to increase DDR voltage to 2.7 - 2.8v. Your CPU should be able to reach 2.5Ghz with approx 1.5 - 1.55v.
