How to find out what hardware you have got?

I used to use everest to find out my exact specs but now you have to pay for it and I don't believe in paying for software. Are there any other free programs I can use to find out my exact specs. Any help would be appriciated.

CPU-Z is also a good one, the website also has another larger programcalled PC Wizzard that tells every detailed spec you can think of even some u never heard of.....and u can print them out.

CPU-Z for Windows® x86/x64 is a freeware that gathers information on some of the main devices of your system : Processor name and number, codename, process, package, cache levels. Mainboard and chipset. Memory type, size, timings, and module specifications (SPD). Real time measurement of each core's internal frequency, memory frequency. CPU-Z is fully supported on Windows® 11. The CPU-Z‘s detection engine is now available for customized use through the CPUID System Information Development Kit, a professional SDK built for the Microsoft Windows & Android.

Do you have ANY idea what is involved in software engineering? Do you know what it takes to write a program that you download everyday, use it, and trash it? I m not talking about programs like Word or Windows or Doom 3, i am talking about some simple programming, those tiny bitty 1.5 MB size files that you download. Do you know what a man sacrifices to get those done so people like you can spam the forums because you don't want to pay $10 for their efforts?

Let me tell you this...An average programmer who is able to write an entire program by himself (or with a group of people - point is someone who works freelance) usually goes to university for 5 years (yeah right most good CS schools take 5 years not 4!), has to do research, at least 1 year internship, then goes to graduate school for 2-3 years.

Do you know how hard it is to even get a C in any of those CS classes? You wouldn't believe me if i told you that people basically forget about their social life and their hobbies, their loved ones and study constantly for days, weeks, months with 2-3 hour of sleep "everyday" and this includes weekend, for 5 years and then "maybe" they get an "average" GPA for a good graduate school.

Do you know how long do you work in software companies or how long do you spend on programming when you even work by yourself? At least 60-70 hours a week! Do you know what that means? That means staring at a computer screen, writing code, solving problems, solving equations, thinking mathematically, theoratically and writing algorithms based on 1000 year old logic functions for 10 frikin hours "a day"!!!

Do you know what this does to your brain, to your eyes, to your heart, your blood stream, your pulse, your nervous system and so many other things?

You have no idea!!!! You have no right to come here and say "I don't believe in paying for software". You have no idea about what it takes to write a software so that people like you can come and whine about "believing in paying for software"

Not all of us earn mega bucks, some of us just about manage to afford a PC let alone paying £30 for every bit of software we want. Some of us get paid f**k all and have to save for years just to be able to afford a computer. I'm not saying I won't pay for software but I love the people who make things available for free that's all I was getting at. Some of us have families to support which leaves very little money left at the end of the month! Maybe if workers got paid what they are entitled to not what the company can get away with paying(ie massive profits for directors and shareholders whilst the workers get min wage) we might be able to afford to pay for software.

Let's not get into socialism, capitalism, etc discussion here.

Point is simple. People spend enormous amount of time for writing programs (you actually don't realize they are one of those people you are talking about "...people having families to support" and so on) and at the end, they deserve to get paid, period. Nothing is free in this life you should know better. If you see a software that is free, it's either too new and developers want to advertise it or it has 30 day trial.

People who do write programs for free make 0.0001% of the software engineers and sooner or later they do too realize they need to get paid so they can live.

stealing software is baaaad, its the same thing as id you went into a store and took something off the shelf. someone worked hard to make something.

I bet if a software developer caught you they would beat you up behind a dennys and leave you for dead for that kind of talk.

Im sure microsofft will be catching up to you soon
