    7.1 EAX surround??

I have a 24bit Sound Blaster Live sound card.

What is software/hardware/EAX fuction in the "audio option". What are the spacifics of each one?

My sound card is hardware right? Why when I put it on hardware with high settings, the sound chops.

I bought Creative Surround, and Creative 7.1 Speakers. I'll be ****ed if I cant get surround on this game just cause I didn't buy a $100 Audity card. But I'm sure its just me, which is why I need some help.

P.S. I'm sure its hooked up right, cause 7.1 works on several other games. (And unlike BF2, were not even made especially for Creative Sound Blaster.) Heeeeeeeeelp!

Software is the basic option for best performance, Hardware is the option if you have a dedicated soundcard, which you do. But why the sound chops I have no idea, have you updated its drivers recently?

Edit: also there could be a chance its related to http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54485

I think the SB Live! Series doesn't work properly with BF2. Run 'dxdiag' and try setting your sound acceleration to 'Basic Acceleration' and see if that fixes the problem.

Specifically the SB Live 24 bit card is known to have serious BF2 issues. You'll only be able to use the Software mode I believe without any troubles.

Yeah, because the X-Fi has no issues with BF2.
