well, i just bought a x1900xt from newegg right now. it should be here tomorrow. i'm greatly looking forward to it cause i've seen it outperform every other card on the market for BF2. i can't wait. happy birthday to me.

Dumb poll, agreed. For the sake of the poll I'll state that the 512mb 1900 XT does trump the 256mb 7800 GTX (price for price). Maybe the poll should read "1900 XT or 7800 GTX". But only because the 7900 GTX is coming out in less than a month.

Otherwise change it to '1900 or 7900' if you're wanting to compare generations correctly.

THe X1900XT also beats the 512mb GTX too, it's about 200 bucks cheaper (500 vs. 700 dollars) and it is faster.

If I had to choose between those two, I would go for the 1900XTX, but if I could wait another month or two, I would rather go with the 7900's.

i totaly agree with [DC]M4guy624,i know that my x1800 kills the 7800,and i think the x1900 is and will be the best card even with the 7900 out

I'm not too sure what you mean by that (kills the 7800)... if you're comparing the two in benchies, my card won't be far off. What's your 3DMark?? score BTW?

it doesn't kill it, but it does beat it a majority of the time (only exception being Q4 and D3) and w/ the X1900 out the price of the X1800 has fallen below the GTX http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102643 there is no real choice on which one to buy anymore.

btw nice 06 score... i wish i had a better CPU w/ my X1900 I only get 5227 on 06 (CPU 3500+ @ 2530mhz), whats your 05 score w/ your system?

This poll is comparing two cards that are in two different leagues, however while in different leagues the 7800 series keeps up nicely. It doesnt get beat by much, but it is normally the clear loser between the two.

Comparing the 7800GTX to the 1800XT would be a better comparison.

The x1900 is obviously the sister-opponent to the 7900 series.

Ya, i agree, if u want a great GPU NOW, get the X1900series, if u can wait or ur upgrading and u don't need it NOW, then i would reccomend u wait for the 7900 from nvidia, especially if ur one of the MANY nvidia fanboys at this forum.
