Would I notice a big bottleneck with a 7800gt and an amd 64 3200+ 939socket venice?

The specs I'm looking at are:

AMD 64 3200+ 939socket [already have]
asus 939socket mobo [getting]
2gb gigaram pc3200 dual channel [getting]
7800gt [getting possibly]
500w xclio psu [have]

I'll oc the cpu if I figure out how to.

BTW, should I wait for a few weeks to buy the 7800gt? Will the prices drop?

Sounds like a good machine to me. And no, don't wait a few weeks, the prices I'm sure probably won't decrease that much.

Well, theres a restocking fee of 15% and I dont have the extra 30 bucks at the moment because my parents are buying the pc for me. The only reason why is because the company I ordered the 3000+ before I got the 3200+ didnt refund me... I gotta email them again. =\

I would never deal with a company that has a restocking fee. Anyways, I just picked up an eVGA 7800GT from NewEgg.com for $289.00 (now $299.00). Pretty sweet deal considering its one of the best OC'ing cards on the market and eVGA covers the card even when its OC'd under their Lifetime Warentee (even if I switch out the cooler!).

What kind of settings are you running on your 7800GT? I just picked one up and have been enjoying 1280x960 all high with 0xAA. Thats with a Athlon 64 3700+ and 2GB ram.

Nooooo, dude get Dell you wont regreat it, lol. It will be fine my son, it would do better with a better CPU but they are good buddies.

On the topic of the 7800 series, would buying one of these give a good performance boost over the 6600 series?

I know they are much better but is the ingame much smoother etc, my card has no AA so therefore I have not seen what that looks like.

Also the 7800 series is expensive, so would this card secure you for having games playing on top settings, e.g for the future like when STALKER is released and Quake Wars etc? in other words will you be able to play games for the next few year(s) on top settings without having to upgrade?
