    Suggestions on Pagefile settings

hey all my first post! yay.

ive upgraded and added another 2 x 512mb sticks of ram to my current spec (taking me to 4 x 512mb PC3200 400Mhz) i use two physical hard drives and have currently set my pagefile on D drive (where C drive holds my XP install and BF2 install etc....) i wanted to know what kinda settings i should have my pagefile set on. i hear conflicting info on what i should have, 200 mb in both fields, or is it 512 mb initial and 2048 mb max? i dunno so i thought i would post the question here!

other info is that my drives are SATA 160gb each also there is a recovery partition (E drive) on one drive but i cannot figure out which one it is but i really have the feeling its C drive. all drives have been recently defragged.

There is no purpose in your page file being any larger than your actual physical RAM amount.

After doing some looking around. It appears my information is outdated (95,98 etc)

The page file *supposedly* should be set to around 2.5 times the size of the Physical RAM and the min/max sizes should be set the same so the page file never fragments.

Yeally, interesting, i never thought it would be 2.5 times.. thats massive, so what if you have 2Gigs or RAm, your page file should be 5123 MB?? Wow.. ok :) lol.

I would think that 1.5-2 times would be enough.

I think they figure in extra buffer for those who user-switch, to which they accredit needing another 50% RAM size for each user logged on.
