6600GT Card Ifound

I found this sweet looking card the 6600GT made by eVGA, the reviews look good and the card has a doom 3 picture on the fan hehe I love it. I Since its only $10 cheaper than the 6800GS card I had in mind and it has the doom 3 logo picture on the fan, I will buy this card next month, hehe cannot wait.

I also have otehr stuff to spend as well with the money, like more $$$ for my new PSU as well, now I can buy a $30 psu instead of a $20

umm, well... a 30$ PSU would suck! and a 20$ I dont even know if they exist lol. But dude, the performance difference betweena a 6600gt and a 6800gs is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO huge its not even funny.. Its high graphics compared to medium graphics. and a 10$ difference.. GEEZ get the 6800. I mean, the 6600gt wont last long. Look, the 6800gs can play FEAR at high-max settings while the 6600gt can play on medium and thats it. a 10$ difference you are lucky. Seriously get the 6800. Plus that model of the 6600gt is known to overheat some.

And once the card is installed you'll never see it (unless you turn the case upside down or stand on your head). Just to give you an idea of the difference between the 6600GT and the 6800GS,

Spend the extra $10.

Oh and a $30 power supply, please take a picture of the look on your face if and when the psu has a meltdoen and takes most of your components with it. Word of advice, DO NOT cheap-out on a psu.

yes, cheaping out on a psu is not a good idea. to run a 6800gs you need a minumum 350W PSU. I would always play it safe 400-450W. Not TOO expensive.

I think he meant to say "100$". The 6600gt is $130, and the cheapest 6800gs is $210. and the cheapest AGP 6800GS from eVGA is $230. Im pretty sure he meant 100$. I would then go with the 6600gt, if you cant just 'spare' another 100$. But also, get use all that extra money on a SUPER good PSU because a 6600gt should have about 400W - 450W recommended. and 350 minumum.

No, either a 6600gt or a 6800gs, not the xt, that card is complete crap.

dont get the XT, unless you are desparate, and if you do. Make sure its cheap, and you overclock it. The difference between a 6800gs and the 7300gs is there, but its not TOO big. I lost the article comparing the two. The 7300GS is better, about 40$ better.

Think (hope) you mean 7800GS. From the specs of the 7300GS, it looks to be the FX5200 of the 7 series. Based on the specs for it,



it looks to be a bit of a dog.
