Help im Poor.

Hello all, im in need of a new GFX card for BF2 cause mine cant even play the demo. Currently I have a Geforec 2 (extremly sad....) with 64mb. Here are my specs

Petium 4 Prosseser
1.82Ghz
512MB of RAM
Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX 400 (VERY OLD, but can play HL2 fine)
64.0mb

I have $100 to spend on a new GFX. I dont care if I have to play on low settings I JUST WANNA PLAY!!!!

Eep...do you have an AGP slot?

If so, try and find an nVidia 6200

But you're pretty well hurting and you'll be VERY lucky to play it at any decent framerate even with that card.

either just save it up and bite the bullet for now. Or try to get the 6 series like Talus said.

You may also be able to find an X300.

both will play the game....but at more than 20fps, thats debatable.

try looking for an AGP nvidia 5700. I know mine worked very well with 512 ram and a 2.53 pentium 4 for a long time. The price is about 90$ I think. Or go with the 6200. If you can find a nicely priced one.

Come up with an additional $50 and get an nVidia 6600gt 128mb AGP.

Goto pricewatch.com and search the video cards for the 6600gt. You'll find several places that sell them for under $150.

Even if you win the lottery, you cannot put any card better than this one without wasting it due to your low CPU/ram specs. The 6600gt is the best card for what you currently have.

Keep saving those pennies and get at least another 512 of ramm too asap.

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy a Geforce5 also known as the FX series...as in that 5700 mentioned above...don't. The FX series bothced DX9 compatibility...it is abysmal.

Either tell us the make and model of your motherboard..or download a system info application like SiSoft SANDRA.

If you have 100 and a agp slot, you can afford a 6600 ddr2.

Yup, the NEW 6600 ddr2(MUST BE DDR2 VERSION!!!!!!!!!) is actually pretty damn good. About equal to a 128mb 6600GT, good call on that one.

However, I have only seen them in pci-e...

I like it better than Sandra, much simpler to navigate. If you use this one, when you run it goto the section called Motherboard, and a few lines down it will say Expansion slots: and have a list of what slots you comp has on it.

Well yes, its better than PCI, lol.. it means the best card you can get is the x850PE/6800Ultra. They are quite expensive, but are good.

I really hate the fact that i'm saying this mate, but aren't you throwing good money after bad (in a way).
I don't know if the game experience that you will get will actually be worth it for you at the moment. Think about saving up for a bit longer, looking at second hand etc for a better spec PC.
Sorry I said that but I don't like the idea of you wasting your money for a game only to (just about) get it working, going online and being thoroughly cheesed off within a short time, thats all.
