I, too, am looking for new monitor

I tried the NEC 90GX2. Took it back. Not big enough. I would go with a CRT but spousal unit doesn't want some big ass monster sitting on the desk. LCD, it is. But which one. I really don't want to spend a grand but I suppose I could see around 6-8oo. I know, whats a couple hundred bucks at that point? Well, most of the money is coming from a nice overtime check so there is a limit. I like the matte finish which the NEC didn't have also wnat a black frame.

Put my order in today for this bad boy. Will let you know next week on performance. I have done a lot of reading and research on these larger size monitors and the talk on this one is pretty good. Best price per/size/performance I have been able to locate.

Ya, they look reputable and their price is better and I do appreciate the link. The only thing is, while I have found other places with a tad better prices on this monitor, my past experience with newegg has been very good. I have to go with familiarity on this one. Besides, I already ordered it. I purchased all of the stuff in sig at newegg.

I use newegg on ocassion. Since they are in California, as am I, I get charged sales tax. Not so with PCNation, plus FREE shipping.

Dunno about a $929.99 on a 24" ACER ......i would go with the new 30"inch dell moniter if i was gonna spend big money on a lcd...

Well I did recieve my Acer and what a beauty she is. As a matter of fact, I could buy another one of these and still have $500 bucks left over if compared to one 30" apple. Don't get me wrong, I do think that the Apple 30" is sweet, i'm just not sure if a 15ms response is going to be fast enough for these games. 24" is plenty good for a really nice gaming experience in my opinion.
