    1. Do not cut corners here.

    2. There are a number of good ones: however, check your mobo to see which PSUs they recommend (ie. 20 or 24 pin connector)

    3. Some reputable names are P&C Cooling, OCZ. Seasonic to name a few.

    4. Foxtron does make a lesser expensive PSU that has a good reputation but I do not have one...... I have a Seasonic S12 600

    5. The following thread is one of the better threads at explaining PSUs so you can make up your own mind.

    Good Luck

It's up to you, but I wouldn't touch that one you linked to with a 10ft poll. It doesn't even list the rails on the site.

Wattage isn't everything and in cheap-no name brands like that are usually irrelevant, but if you don't want to listen to what I have to say, then whatever, it's your computer your ruining. I suppose you know more about it than I do....

Did I say it was? I was just clarifying for the potential flamer who would say something like "hey smacktard noob your case is upside down...." Capiche?

My PSU wasn't in the list, but every review I read of it said nothing but great stuff, the only cons were sheer size (almost 8.8" long!) and cost $190.00 + S&H

I can only spend $150 MAX on both items, so they both have to equil $150 though I really can't afford over $170, but I will try to get a PSU that is not $20 because its cheap.

Don't cheap out on the PSU period, save up and get a Antec neopower.

Yeah, I'd say a 6600gt should cost about 150, maybe less.

                        Re: Good GPU and PSU?

U guys, stop making WILD suggestions for PSU, don't listen to them, they want u to buy a 100+ dollar PSU, if u only have 150 bucks to spend for BOTH, then, i suggest u don't get a very good GPU (6600GT would be nice), so then it won't require a very good PSU. I would go with a more trusted company, FSP is good, cheap, and its good:

It has nice dual +12v rails, anyways, for a good vid card cheap: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150098
It's the cheapest 6600GT i could find on newegg.com, it totals to 159.98, but i think it should be good enough. And for anybody that doesn't trust FSP cause it seems unreliable cause of the price, don't be mislead, they are cheap AND good.

remember it has to be a AGP 8x slot GPU not a PCI-E 16x slot

Hey flipino, I don't think that PSU is 550w. On newegg it says 550w but on the sticker on the back is says

                            Total Power: 400w
                            MAX OUTPUT: 550w

                              Damn, forgot that, here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130001
Then it will total to 169.98, but it should be reasonable.
