    Best CPU for my money?

    I'm trading in my PSP with 2 games, so i may get like $260ish

    One thing i dont know is how to find out what "socket" i have on my motherboard for my processor

    I was gunna get an AMD Athlon 64 somethin, but i dont know what

    Any help?

    get a amd 64 +3600 then OC it to +4000, see how you save the money from buying a +4000? lol

          I would not reccommend taking this cat's advice. There is no 3600+.

            Guys he has a 423 socket INtel. He will be lucky to even find a processor for a socket 478, much less a 423. The fastest socket 423 is 2Ghz which would only be a 200mhz upgrade.

            If you want an A64 processor you will also need a new motherboard.

              Yes, you need a new system board if you want a substantial processor upgrade.

                I hate to hog your thread but I'm not too upto date with Cpu's myself and I'm looking for an AMD for gaming. I don't mind about price but nothing too expensive.
