Would it be worth it to get the Creative X-Fi if...

I don't have a top of the line machine now? I only play on medium, and my headset is the Senheiser PC150. I run BF2 on software settings now, do you think I'd be able to get a little more juice out of my game if I had hardware enabled with a good card? I'm not a big audiophile or anything, but I do enjoy movies and music. I don't currently have a 5.1 system, but I rarely use anything buy my headset. Would you recommend I get an X-Fi or just a audigy 2 ZS or something.

I just bought an X-Fi today, so I'm still not ready to give an opinion of it, but all of the reviews I've read say that it will barely give your system a boost in frames per second. What it DOES do is improve sound quality. That's it. That might help your gaming if you know where the enemy is, and you do have decent headphones (always been a fan of Seinheiser).

If your goal is performance, invest to get yourself upto 2GB of ram or save for a better video card.

Ok..if you're in the market for a sound card...then GET IT. Do not spend money on an Audigy 2 right now unless you can get it dirt cheap ($20) or somebody is giving one away.

If you're in the market for an upgrade in general, then go for a new GPU or more RAM.

I have the X-Fi XtremeMusic and it was worth it. You'll especially like it since you're using good quality headphones...no need for 5.1 speakers.
