This problem is not specifically about BF2, but I can't play BF2 until I fix the problem I am having. Please help!!!!!
1. I have a Asus KN8-E Deluxe Motherboard. I have a WD 80G SATA hard drive. Antec 430W power supply. If I restart my PC in any way, the BIOS will not find the hard drive. If I power off the PC (back switch) then power on, the BIOS is able to see the hard drive. I flashed the BIOS and removed all jumpers. I removed the motherboard and all components to see if it was a grounding issue, but the same thing happened. Anyone have any ideas? Asus claims the SATA port will work or not work, not exibit problems like these.
2. Same PC, different hard drive. Bought a new Rapter 74G Hard drive from WD. This hard drive is recognized by the BIOS on restarts, but will not boot from a new bootable XP CD. The CD works in my other PC, and even with the hard drive mentioned in Part 1 (same PC). I was able to download the floppy boot files and make 6 floppies. I was able to boot with these and I was able to access the CD and run windows, until windows had to re-boot, then the system hangs during the "press any key to boot from CD". If I do not press any keys, the system will hard on that screen. If I press a key before the time is up, it will give me the message, "checking hardware", but then the screen goes black. No blue boot up screen ever appears. Tried several times.
